Valcour Community

Valcour Strategic Group is located in the historical lakeside community of Valcour, New York on Lake Champlain's Adirondack Coast. The Valcour area (now Peru, NY) is named after nearby Valcour Island and is located within the Adirondack Park. Valcour Bay is now a National Historic Site as it was the site of the first U.S. Naval Battle - the Battle of Valcour - dating back to October 11, 1776.

VSG operates out of historic "Schoolhouse #8," also known as the Valcour Stone Schoolhouse, which was constructed in 1825 by the settling Quakers.  The Schoolhouse is constructed of Valcour Limestone which was hand quarried from the high bluff of Valcour Island.  Originally the schoolhouse was the community meeting house of the local Quakers and was in service as a singe room schoolhouse until 1935.  The office is located at the approximate site of the British Gunboat Line during the Battle of Valcour.

Valcour Contribution

Each VSG employee volunteers a minimum of 80 hours per year to assist early stage regional companies. Business assistance services offered include Strategic Plan Development, Scale Up Scenario Analysis, Production Process Design and Engineering Services, New Product Development, Test Marketing and Customer Feedback programs, and Market Commercialization. Valcour Strategic Group believes it is a worthy strategic contribution to invest in the local community so as to enable early stage companies to effectively meet their business potential while creating sustainable job growth.

By working with End-Users of new products to capture Voice of Customer feedback, VSG ensures that customer feedback is heard early in the product development process. This approach can be applied to almost any market and ensures that new products and services developed meet the market requirements and are commercialized effectively.
